Sickness: I Has It

Yes, sir.

I've been out of commission since last rainy Friday when I slept at 3am. It was a rainy Thursday night when I decided to finish assignments due the next week ahead of time in an attempt to spare myself of the usual due-date frustrations. I was already feeling a bit dehydrated, having eaten almost an entire bar of dark chocolate (85%?) M had bought for me earlier in the day. I was exhausted from the day's lectures but reluctantly finished one out of two assignments, almost falling asleep by the end of it. By the time I got home, it was 2am and the early morning clouds decided once again to rain as hard as they could. I shower and KO.

Friday morning. I wake up to a zoo of harmful microbials rocking out at a mucous party lodged somewhere deep in my sore, throbbing throat. Eff. I didn't do anything the entire day besides rest up and drink a camel's worth of fluids. I slept at 9pm.

Saturday morning, with my body sore, head aching, I tap out. I never felt so guilty about not showing up to practice in my life. It's strange because it wasn't a choice: my brain felt like it was cooking in a nuclear oven. Mind over matter, right? I asked myself that, and said, "eff you, I can't do this." I hated that feeling, it's one of the worse things in life. NEVER, ever, do I want to feel like that again.

So, I'm stating here and now, that I will do my utmost top-privy job to avoid sickness in the future. What that means is:

1. Sleep enough. 8hrs avg, 7hrs min.
2. Eat what your body is telling you to eat.
3. DRINK LOTS OF WATER
4. Do what your body wants.
5. Stay on top of things, stress less.
6. Clean.

It's Wednesday now, and I'm about 98% recovered.
