Musing: My First Alcohol Purchase

So, I bought my very first alcoholic beverage last Tuesday, just three days after my 21st:



Before turning 21, I never once pondered the process of purchasing alcohol in stores. Not once. But, at the advent of my becoming numerically adult, I figured, "why not?"

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not an alcoholic by any means. In fact, I don't drink at all. But the action of flashing my ID buying that bottle of two-buck-Chuck at the Trader Joe's check-out lane definitely instilled a new feeling. The feeling of exclusiveness, maybe even power. In RPG terms, "leveling up." I don't know what to make of this, but for now, I'm happy with my cooking wine.
