Ben&Jerry's: Strawberry Cheesecake

Packaging

Under the lid...

Dascoop!

Okay. Layers of sweet glazed strawberries atop a nice dense cheesecake all rounded off with a nice thick graham cracker crust, mmm... It's one of those things that I can't get enough of. Wait a minute, this is an ice cream flavor? Well, I have nothing to say but: AWW YEAH.

Texture: CREAMY! It had the fluffy consistency that I associate as signature Ben & Jerry's. I'm damned sure that this texture is a byproduct of the various flavor swirls that make their way in, through, and around the ice cream. In this case, it's a graham cracker swirl: I really didn't notice the graham crackers were part of a swirl until I had finished the whole serving, I thought they were just cracker bits. Which means, this particular swirl combined well with the ice cream; it was subtle but was a perfect textural compliment. The strawberries had a sort of pureed consistency, not the usual chunks B&J's (or HD for strawberry) is so well known for.

Flavor: strawberry cheesecake ice cream means extra decadently rich strawberry ice cream. It was like they added extra heavy whipping cream. At least that was the first impression I got. The first bite had me tasting a sweet strawberry flavor followed by melt-in-your-mouth graham cracker bits. Whenever I chanced upon a shred of strawberry, it would help break up the richness of the ice cream and produce the trifecta of tastes that makes this ice cream flavor work. Nice...

Out of the three single-serving-sized flavors I bought, this was the one I reluctantly picked as an aversion to Mint Chocolate Chip (something about mint-flavored ice cream that doesn't bide well with my buds), and the one I was looking least forward to. However, this turned out to be the most pleasant-to-eat flavor amongst the bunch and definitely deserves a try!
Finally, a hit amongst the misses!

Overall: 7/10
