5x10 125lb Bench <--- Fail (couldn't reach 10 on sets after first one)
5x10 Pull-ups <--- Fail (too long of rest between sets)

Weight: 143.2 lbs

In my last post, I hinted that the motivation to lift had returned.
The catalyst was undoubtedly my roommates' new-found motivation (all 3 of them).
But there's something else that's motivating me as well...
I've always wanted to push my body to its limits and see where it'd take me; having grown up as 'the chub', it's been a dream to achieve a toned, muscular body type, y'know, with the six-pack and all. I always thought that when it happened, I'd take vain topless self-portraits to document that I had, at least once in my life, been a super-fit individual; something I could show my kids when I grew old and grew a beer belly.

But, after watching a Crossfit related video today, it's reinforced my belief that fitness is and will be a life-long journey. Fitness isn't something that happens overnight, it doesn't happen even after years of hard training. Fitness is pushing yourself to the next level, always improving, always looking forward, never looking back.

Eat healthy, work hard, and the results will show as a by-product of this lifestyle.

So maybe when I grow old and have grandchildren, I wouldn't need to show them photos to prove how fit I was when I was younger; they would already realize just by acknowledging the choices I make.
