On the Subject of... Retrospect

You know when you look back on your life and say, "in retrospect, I would have..."

-or-

"Man, was I dumb or what?"

.

In present-time, as in NOW, right this very moment, do you see yourself as somewhat accomplished, intelligent, confident in your own beliefs?

I know I do, for the most part.

But even with that confident swagger, we trip, we fall, and we make mistakes.
Then we look back and say, "that was dumb of me, why didn't I see it coming?"

WHAT? But I was so confident in my decision! So sure of it.

Well, the short answer to why you didn't see it coming is: because you haven't seen it before.

Too many people give mistakes a negative connotation. I attribute this to the observation that we were brought up to associate mistakes with failure.

What I want to resound here is this: MAKING MISTAKES IS NOT FAILING.

If you pick yourself up after you trip and fall, then you are experiencing, learning, living.
Don't be afraid to make mistakes, live a little.

That was... totally stream of conscious, not even what I wanted to start talking about starting off (which was respecting those who have more experience than you and to always to stay humble).

Live and learn I guess!
